Privacy Policy

Effective October 21, 2026

This policy explains what information the SparkPlug app for Mac ("SparkPlug", "we", "us") accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the SparkPlug app and to sprkplg.io.

1. Information we access

Tasks and time blocks you create. The titles, notes, durations, lists and scheduled times you enter in SparkPlug.

Calendars on your Mac. If you grant calendar permission in macOS, SparkPlug reads events from calendars already added to your Mac so it can show them next to your tasks.

Google account data. If you choose to connect a Google account, SparkPlug accesses the data described in section 2.

SparkPlug does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.

2. Google user data

When you sign in with Google, SparkPlug requests only the permissions it needs to show your calendar and place time blocks on it:

Basic profile and email addressIdentifies which Google account is connected and displays it in Settings.
Google Calendar listLets you choose which of your calendars appear in SparkPlug.
Google Calendar events (read and write)Shows your events on the Day and Week views, and, only when you turn it on, adds your time blocks to a calendar you pick.

SparkPlug's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically, we:

  • use Google user data only to provide and improve the features you see in SparkPlug;
  • do not sell Google user data or use it for advertising, including retargeting or personalized ads;
  • do not use Google user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes;
  • do not use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models;
  • do not allow humans to read Google user data, unless you give us explicit permission for specific messages or events (for example, when you ask for support), it is needed for security purposes, or it is required by law.

3. How we use information

We use the information above to display your tasks and calendar together, schedule and run focus blocks, sync time blocks to a calendar when you ask us to, and respond to support requests you send us.

4. Storage and security

Your tasks, time blocks and calendar data are stored on your Mac. Google sign-in tokens are stored in the macOS Keychain. Requests to Google are made directly from your Mac over encrypted connections (TLS), and calendar data is not sent to servers operated by SparkPlug.

5. Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your information with third parties. We may disclose information only if required by law, or to protect the safety and security of our users, and only to the extent necessary.

6. Retention and deletion

Data stays on your Mac until you delete it. You can:

  • disconnect a Google account in SparkPlug Settings, which removes its tokens and cached events from your Mac;
  • revoke SparkPlug's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page;
  • delete all SparkPlug data by uninstalling the app and removing its data folder;
  • ask us to delete any support correspondence by emailing privacy@sprkplg.io.

7. Children

SparkPlug is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

8. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. If a change affects how we use Google user data, we will ask for your consent in the app before it takes effect.
